1 Convertible 1 Story : BMW E30

Hello everyone, here is the first testimonial of “1 Cabriolet 1 histoire” with Guillaume L. a classic car enthusiast since his childhood.

“Passionate about classic cars since I was a child, I was lucky enough to acquire this 1990 BMW 320i cabriolet E30 with 165,000 km now 8 years ago!

It has the particularity to have an “English” configuration with a malachite green body & a beige leather interior. This is quite rare on German convertibles of the 90’s!

It is a 129hp 2.0l 6-cylinder (phase 1.5 for the connoisseurs, i.e. chrome bumpers with phase 2 M20B20 engine)

For the record, it belonged to a presidential advisor and slept for many years in a basement on the Champs Elysées!

At the time, it was a great way to enjoy the 6-cylinder in “cabriolet” mode!

The car was in good general condition, but needed some attention to make it more reliable.

On the agenda for the last 8 years:

– 2 complete timing belt replacements

– Front and rear axles rebuilt with new ball joints and silentblocks

– 4 Bilstein shock absorbers

– Complete braking system

– A new leather steering wheel

– 4 new tyres on the desirable BBS 15 inch 4×100 rims!

– 1 custom made stainless steel silencer to magnify the L6 (I admit I cracked but what a kif!)

+ routine maintenance.

Not to mention a beautiful new Sonnenland alpaca soft top and a complete beige leather upholstery from ComptoirduCabriolet!

I opted for the installation of a windshott which changes the driving experience radically!

To date, the car has 197,000km, it’s not my everyday car anymore but I still enjoy the 6-cylinder purr with my 2 year old son at the weekend!

Au plaisir de partager la passion automobile sur la page du ComptoirduCabriolet !

Here are some pictures of the car and its evolution.

We would like to thank him for taking the time to write this article and for sharing his passion with LeBlogDuCab. Do not hesitate to contact us, you too, to share the story of your cabriolet with the community!
